*SNIFF SNIFF* WHATS THAT SMELL? OH, ITS THE SMELL OF SERIOUS BULLSHIT
im not sure if this has been adressed already, and sorry if it has!! but as someone who has lived in the UK all my life i can confirm that this post is 100% BULLSHIT
i respect that the original poster may not have been aware that this was incorrect, but i am very much concerned for the amount of people that have spread this post around and have actually believed it, and that havent even taken the time out to research and find out if this crap is true or not. which it isnt.
firstly, we dont even use + or - grades, the only exception is an A* grade. our grades range from A*/A to G, and below that is a U.
secondly, our grading system ranges a lot, however its actually usually along the lines of -
90% - A*
80% - A
70% - B
etc etc
and you cant even really say there is a uk grading system, because of how much it varies from exam to exam, subject to subject, exam board to exam board!!
thirdly, this post angers and insults me as it implies that in the uk we just get to cruise through our education and bullshit our way into success, which is not true. this post implies that we in the uk dont need to work hard to get decent grades, but we do, we have to work hard to get good qualifications, just as much as any other student on this planet will have to.
so please signal boost this if you can because i dont want anymore people to be deceived into thinking that this is correct information when it is not, it is bullshit
thank you and have a lovely day!!

as an IGCSE student (where our grading system is managed by the Cambridge International Examinations board), I am thankful for this post. Please spread this around. People shouldn’t belittle our efforts. I will choke anyone who thinks that the UK system or the IGCSE system or any system is any easier or harder than the other because it implies that students don’t work just as hard as other students.

Well you do have an extra 10% to work with other than the American system. An 80% is a B here and 70% is a C. In order to get an ‘A*’ (A+ in the US), we’d constantly need to get 100%
